What is your life?

Something happened on the way to church this morning that really shook us up. Ryan was driving, and for some reason he almost didn’t stop when we hit Rt. 46. We literally almost HIT 46 with 3 cars coming down the highway, including a corvette. Darryl and I estimate that we were 1 second (how long does it take to say “one one-thousand”?) from impact. It was a reminder of how fleeting our lives are, how quickly they can be taken from us.

We were truly shaken all through the church service because we came so close to possibly losing our boys today (oncoming traffic would’ve hit their side of the car). We thought about how are lives would’ve changed if Ryan hadn’t hit the brake right when he did.

At the end of the service we sang this song called Still I Will Worship You. All through the song we wondered if we would still worship Him if our boys were taken from us in such a moment as this morning. Would we? How I pray we never have to find out.

Still I Will Worship You

Please don’t withhold affection or time or hugs from people you love. If possible, go out of your way to let them know how much they mean to you before it’s too late.

James 4:14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
