Misc. pictures from Darryl's phone

oops...forget he had some on his camera.  Oh well.

Gift from our TA.  They were good!

Darryl capturing me capturing the Na Pali Coast.

Long day in the Honolulu airport

But at least we got to spend it in the Polaris Lounge, which made our 7 hours a little bit nicer.  There were some snacks and free drinks.  We were terribly exhausted from all the travel.  Darryl's been sick for a week, but hoping he gets better soon.

Of course I had to take pictures from the plane.  I was so happy to be on my way home.  I don't want to fly again...unless it's in the rapture, to meet the Lord in the air!

Bus tour of the North Shore

This was just something to do to pass the time since our flight wasn't going to be until late at night.  It's technically an excursion through NCL...it's the 5 hour bus tour of the North Shore.  The beaches on the North Shore were so lovely...too bad we didn't go there instead of the dinky little beaches we went to.  Oh well, you live and learn.

Goodbye Pride of America.

Homeless.

Pineapple ice cream.

The Dole Plantation

Roadside BBQ

One of the many beaches along the North Shore

I had lots of pictures, but this will do.  After a while they all start looking alike anyway.  Pride of America was a real disappointment.  I should have known from all the comments I read online.  It was very small (why we felt so much rocking), and old, and the food wasn't great, and the excursions weren't great for what you pay.  But they are always booked to capacity and they have no competition, so they can do whatever they want.  They won't be seeing us again.

We also drove by JD Farag's church.  So that was really nice!  Wishing we had the time to go in and meet him.

Back to Honolulu

Back to the big city.

Bye-bye balcony.  We'll miss you.

Waiting in the Mardi Gras lounge for our bus tour, which will be in the next post.

Our last day on the ship

The $4.00 milkshakes from the Cadillac diner were nothing to write home about...they tasted like cheap soft serve that we could have gotten for free elsewhere on the ship.

Some fancy treats that we did not eat.

Our last night on the ship.  Trying to pass the time away while we were both feeling crappy.  Darryl in his favorite place, our private hot tub on the balcony.  It was too hot for me, so I stayed in.

This was a staff pool that was right below our balcony.

The fancy french restaurant we ended up at.

The fancy knife.

View from our last supper.

Very nice French Onion Soup.

Really good pork chop.

Our last towel animal.  Aww, so cute.
