very hot peppers, tomatoes, basil, Thai basil, and dill
something I planted today
Been getting stuff done.
I'm happy about that.
I'm not feeling so good physically.
I'm not happy about that.
I'm pretty upset and scared about it.
There's a really good chance I will need surgery again soon.
Enough said.
God help me.
We had a very good night at Front & Center this month. Here are the songs I did with Ryan and Darryl.
The Great Exchange - I wrote this while recovering from surgery in January, as I reflected on my physical body and all that was wrong with it. I needed to remind myself that God, my Creator, had all of it under His control; whether I lived or died, or suffered, or whatever, it was His Will. And even more importantly, the great exchange that takes place when we surrender our lives to Him and become His children. When we trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior, He takes our sin upon Himself and imparts His righteousness on us. It's an exchange made only by grace through faith in the blood shed upon the cross.
Times Like This - This song was inspired by Psalm 63, and thinking about dark days that seem to be approaching. Sometimes I look around at this world and I can hardly comprehend the evil I see. And I always ask, "How bad is it going to get?"
For You - I wrote this about 4 years ago. I marvel at how many songs are written to the Lord, or about Him. It's overwhelming to consider all that could be written, sung, or hummed to give Him glory. He is worthy of it all.
Jesus Loves Me - This is one of the songs that I put on my album.
At The Cross (Love Ran Red) - This is one that I will likely be doing when I lead worship at church.
The Love of God - This is beautiful old hymn with an incredible story behind it. And it's another one that I will be doing at church. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure Darryl will be my sidekick that week.
Today Darryl and I snuck into the pool for some swimming and relaxing. The water 81 glorious degrees. I felt like a kid again. It was so great. Can't wait to be done with the pool project. Tomorrow they are coming to clean it. Gotta wait till next week to get the concrete patio. They are so behind from what was originally promised...about a month behind. Being able to get in it today made the waiting a little easier.
Kyle, Hilary, and I took a quick trip to West Virginia to visit Mom. We stopped at an antique store, and a restaurant. We had a super nice time with her! K & H did some rock work on her flower bed. We looked at old photo albums. We talked and laughed, and ate fresh eggs, and enjoyed the quietness. We heard the sound of some whip-poor-wills. It was a very nice visit. Love you, Mom!
Scott and Flo told us that their huge Norway Spruce is being considered for the Rockefeller Tree Lighting this year. That would be amazing!!
I am so happy, pleased, blessed, and honored that we sang my song "We Choose You" during our Sunday morning worship. It went really well. We hadn't done it for a while, but Ryan picked it this week because it was perfect for the sermon. It was also really nice having Gretchen in the band this week...also, Wade and Chris Anderson.
Afterward, Ryan and I led worship at the nursing home, and Bob Rolff preached. It was a good day.
The progress on the pool has been utterly disappointing and stressful. So much so that I'm not even going to get into. It's just one big fat delay after another.
It was full of water, but because of more issues, we had to let out half of it. ugh...
