Celebrating Janelle

I haven't written for quite a while.  It's been a very tough few weeks.  Sadly, but not unexpectedly, Janelle passed away on February 21st.  There have been many tears shed, and also lots of smiles, as we reminisced about the time we got to know her.  She wasn't in our family for very long, but it is remarkable how many things she and Ryan did together, all the trips they went on, and all the memories they made that will be with him forever.

This is the amazing Celebration of Life service that Ryan did for her.  It was truly God honoring and so touching the way he included video and audio clips of Janelle singing, or them being silly.  Such a wonderful way to remember her.  Around the 118 minute mark Ryan sings No More Night which is absolutely stunning.

And here is a portion of the obituary:

Janelle Marie (Sakoski) Vegh passed into the loving arms of her Savior Feb 21, 2021.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She loved the Lord and demonstrated that daily as she shared her faith. She also had a special way with children.

Janelle loved her family and friends, travel, Missions and animals especially kittens. She had a beautiful voice and quirky sense of humor. Her beverage of choice was kombucha. Janelle loved shopping and was quite the “foodie”.

She leaves behind her best friend and loving husband Ryan. Parents: Gerry and Denise Sakoski, Brother James (Autumn) and nephew Keaghan. Her in-laws: Darryl and Linda Vegh, Brother in law Kyle (Hilary) Vegh. Janelle also has many special Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Even though her passing did not come as a surprise it is still so difficult to grasp.  I still sometimes wake up feeling confused about whether it is true.  When I do fully wake up and realize it is true, I am comforted with the knowledge that she is with our loving Savior, free from pain, free from tears, and enjoying the fullness of heaven that we can't even imagine.  Praise God for His promises.  Janelle, although we will all miss you, we are happy that you are finally free from the agony of your broken body.  We rejoice with you that you are with Jesus!

This is from 1 year ago.

Happy Birthday, Ryan! (29)

Tomorrow Ryan turns 29!! Yes, indeed!  So today we had a very impromptu "party" of sorts in Ryan's basement to do a quick celebration.  Kyle and Hilary were there as well.  We made Beyond Burgers, with all the fixins.  We didn't plan enough ahead of time to do a cake so I did the next best thing: a faux chocolate covered strawberries: ie: dehydrated strawberries with dark chocolate.  Very satisfying.

I forgot to take pictures while we were there, so Ryan very kindly took some "after" photos for my blog.  Thanks babe!!  Love you both, praying for you both.  Hope your birthday is a huge blessing tomorrow!  I LOVE that you are my son.
