Mom's new home...

We took a quick trip to West Virginia to help Mom pack up some stuff and get a bit of work done that she needed.  Darryl did some painting and also repaired her roof.  We went to see her new house, although she can't move in yet because the electric is not on yet and there's all the moving that still needs to be done.

Ryan walking Mom over to her house for the first time
the house is situated on Scott and Flo's property

Eventually there will be a front porch and proper steps
Darryl replacing some bad shingles
it rained on and off for 2 hours!
Mom and me chillin'

I'm so glad we were able to go down and give a hand for a couple days.  It went by fast.

If I allowed myself to think about it, it might be sad realizing that I will never go back to that house where my Dad lived.  Seems I've been saying goodbye a lot lately.   Said goodbye to 2 houses, 2 churches... one of these days it might hit me.

I think Mom will be content living in her new home...just might have to do something about the internet there.  :)

Love you, Mom!

How deep the Father's love for me

Loving our lives in Michigan!
Last week we had a church picnic, which was so much fun, but I neglected to take any pictures.
Ryan and I went to a tiny little "concert" at a brewery after practice last week.

We had a Father's Day celebration a couple of days early.  It was super fun being with the kids.   We went out for Thai and then watched What About Bob (one of our favorites).
In the background is our amazing yard, which we absolutely love!

I know I keep saying it, but life in Michigan is nothing like New Jersey.

I love that I can ride my bike all the way to town and there are sidewalks.
I love that we have a private backyard that is just as lovely as a park.
I love our fish pond and our one little frog.
I love the church I go to.
I love that they see me as a musician!
They welcomed me and gave me a place there.
They made it so easy to fit in.
They like having me in the praise band.
They are investing in me!
I am appreciated!
I am respected!
I am blessed to be at a church where there is so much opportunity for growth.
I am so thankful for this great group of musicians and singers for taking me in as one of their own.
And I am thankful for the pastor asking me to stay there and sing!

This past Sunday the entire set was just awesome.  People were clapping and worshipping so enthusiastically.  After a couple of high energy and midtempo songs we did an acapella version of How Deep the Father's Love.  It was amazing!  So powerful!   I just loved it.  It was such a tremendous honor to be standing up there with 2 seasoned singers doing that song in 3 part harmony.   It's a tremendous privilege to be used by God in this way.

Thank you, Father!! How deep your love for me!

firsts...

Since my last post was depressing and sad, I wanted to make a fresh start.  This is a new beginning for us.   It is the first time in 5 years or so that all the Vegh's are in the same state.

first time i'm here to fully enjoy the mailbox flowers
first bouquet of peonies
first time i am an official member of a praise team
guitar and vocal
first worship at Rosa Parks Circle

first time my worship song appears on a church's song list

first spring in our new home

worship in the circle
first hair coloring in Michigan
>Tonight is the first time we will sleep on our own mattress...
>It's the first time we'll have all of our belongings settled in one home, in one state.
>The first time a neighbor brought us a meal...ever.
>The first time I call Michigan HOME.

I do love our life here already.
People are so friendly, wherever I go.
I am accepted and welcomed as part of the Frontline Praise Band.  I've so much appreciated how people have treated me here.  They have not only made me part of the team, but they have also treated me with respect, as an equal.   That is a huge change for me, and it's something that I genuinely cherish.

Yesterday Ryan and I unloaded at least half of the trailer.  Today we (Darryl, Ryan, and I) finished unloading it with Scott's and Paul's help, as well as Ryan's friends.  It went better than I expected, but even so, it was stressful and demanding.  I did get a lot of boxes unpacked and sorted, but there are still so many more!!  It will take us a good long while to get rid of stuff and empty out the garage, but the process has already begun.  We donated many bags of clothes to someone who was trying to raise money for a missions trip.  We still have tons of stuff to find a home for.  Hoping Kyle and Hilary can use some of it.  Super glad we have the storage rooms in the basement.

I see a garage sale coming soon to Chateau Estates....

I'm so thankful to be here.
