getting my house in order

We got some work done on the house today. We picked up this rug at Lowe's for our dining room. I really like how this room came out. I am happier getting a new rug than tearing the walls down and getting all new furniture. This room is pretty the way it is and our furniture is perfectly fine!

It's been so good for me to clear the clutter out of my house. Clutter and chaos makes me crazy!! I need to have things neat and orderly or I can't think straight. We have a long way to go, but so far I am so happy to be starting the process of cleaning and organizing. Hoping we'll be done by the time the weather is warm and we are spending most of our time outside on our deck. Really looking forward to getting kitchen and floors done!

We put a TV in the living room today but I don't have any pictures of that.

Here are a few pics from the boys facebook pages. I like seeing what they are doing at college and it's great to keep the pics on here for my family.

Ryan's Tae Kwon Do class

Kyle's snow man.
My boys will be out of college before I know it. Then what? We don't know, but we do know it is in God's hands. Will we stay in NJ? Move to Michigan? Move somewhere else? I'm glad it doesn't matter where we live. The way the world is heading Jesus could be back soon and we'll be so out of here.

Hope you are ready for the rapture! If you're not you better get saved NOW! You don't want to be left behind to go through the terrible tribulation.

Matthew 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Trust in Jesus today!! I mean it! TODAY!!

home make-over in progress

OK, so here is my first home make-over post. Shaun came in and did our hardwood floors in the living room and dining room. He did a fantastic job!
Lots of decisions have to be made on color.

here is a small section of the finished floor

and here is another pic of the dining room floor

here's one shot of the beginnings of our livingroom

we still have to add a TV and maybe a mirror, and do some organizing

I moved my desk out of the family room and put it in a corner of the living room

I think it works well here under the steps

So, next we need to make some decisions about kitchen design and cabinets as well as flooring for the foyer and kitchen. Oh, and we are ripping out all the carpeting upstairs, hoping to relieve Kyle of his allergies. Pics will be along as we do the work.

What will you do with Jesus? What will He do with you?

We put all our home redecorating stuff on hold for a few days to come to West Virginia to see my Dad. He had suffered a severe heart attack, followed by other complications last week, so we came down to help Mom out and visit with Dad. After a really rough few days he was showing improvement yesterday and today. We praise God for all the people who have been holding him up in prayer. It has been wonderful to see how many people love and care for my parents. It is wonderful to see God's healing power manifested in those we love.

Obviously life is fragile. There is nothing certain about it except that it will end. We never know when it will be our time to go. It could be on our way to the hospital to visit someone else, or it could be after a long battle with illness. Sometimes we get a warning that death is imminent, and other times it is sudden and unexpected. The Bible says we are destined to die and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27). When you face Jesus Christ will He be your Gentle Savior welcoming you to heaven, or will He be your Just Judge sentencing you to an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14)?

James 4:13-15
Do Not Boast About Tomorrow
13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

How much time do you think you have here on earth? YOU DON'T KNOW!! Why take a chance with your eternity when it is so easy to be assured a place in heaven? God's word promises us life everlasting with Him and all those who have placed their faith in Him to pay for their sins. Why gamble with your destiny? Take God at His word! Believe what He says because God cannot lie!

What does God promise us? A new heaven and a new earth, and eternity living with God, no more pain, death, sorrow, or crying (Revelation 21:1-4).

Here's what God has to say about everlasting life. Whether you believe it or reject it, it is still true.

Daniel 12:2
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 5:24
[ Life and Judgment Are Through the Son ] “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 6:47
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

It is your choice what you will do with Jesus. But remember once you make YOUR choice Jesus has no choice what He will do with you. He will either welcome you or cast you away.

So get saved from an eternity of torment by believing in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. He paid for your sins and mine. Trust Him today because you might not have a tomorrow. Please do it for your loved ones who don't want to go through eternity without you.

oh yeah, baby!

Kyle is sporting a pair of jeans, if you can believe it. He never wore jeans all his life...he hated them. Now he has like 3 pairs I think. I have never seen Kyle in jeans... except for these pictures. He went to a dance last weekend with his friend Jake, and Jake's girlfriend. They had a great time, and I got some pretty stinking cool pictures out of it.

Today we had our wood floors sanded and stained, so I'll be posting pictures of that progress tomorrow or the next day. They look so good already! I'm so excited to be redoing some things in our house. It sure needs it.

Happy 20th Birthday Ryan Vegh!

Here's Ryan having a serious conversation with Bible Man. Ryan has always been interested in the Bible. What a great experience it has been being his mom. I cherish the day he was born.

Sorry I didn't have time to look for a baby picture from the day you were born, Ryan! Love you so much.

starting over

Darryl and I have started the long process of doing our house over. We are both tired of things the way they are. We have been cleaning out the boys bedrooms (loooong way to go on that!). I do need to get pictures of that....and actually I regret not getting any "before" pics!!! We are going to rip up all our carpeting upstairs, and possibly put in hardwood floors. We are hoping that will help Kyle's terrible allergies. This week we are also having our floors in the living room and dining room refinished, so today we began cleaning out all of the furniture and put it in the garage. My back hurts.

Let's see, we are also having new tile put in in the foyer and kitchen, and also getting new kitchen cabinets. Seriously, can't believe all the crap we need to get rid of. Our house is bursting at the seams with stuff we don't need. For now, a lot of junk is going in the basement until we have time to deal with it.

It will be kinda fun to put the rooms back together because we are going to be making some changes. It's nice to start out with a clean pallet. My creative juices are certainly flowing!!

GBC's Grace Singers

There's my eldest son all the way on the left. Praise God for kids who love and serve the Lord! What a blessing they are. Can't wait to have the Grace Singers come out and sing at Preakness next month!! It will be our first time seeing Ryan sing with them.
Ethan - approx 10 months old

I can't believe how much of his life I have missed already. Hard to believe my daughter is so full of hate that she continues to keep him from me. But then again, those who belong to Satan are hard-hearted, bitter, and full of hate towards others...

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. Titus 3:3

I pray that one day she will reach out to the Lord of mercy.
