It was an evening of honoring our loved ones. First we had free admission to the butterfly area, and then there was a ceremony of speakers, lighting candles, roses, a couple of songs, and some tears. So thankful that Kyle and Hilary could go, otherwise it would have been to hard to go alone. Although I did go to the hotel alone and that was kind of fun.
I was helping Ryan pick songs for church and he asked me to sing with him. It was totally unexpected, but ended up being a delightful experience. Also went out to eat with a couple of the guys from church after practice.
Yesterday was Darryl's birthday. AND it was 6 months since he's been gone. I can't believe it's been a half a year! I knew it would be a tough day, so I made plans to spend it with my kids. Ryan and I had brunch at the 76th Street Diner (so good!!) and then we went to his house to pick songs for church this week.
Afterwards I hung out with Hilary and Winnie, and when Kyle got home we had a nice Mexican Lasagna dinner. I'm so grateful to my kids. They not only made the day bearable, but it ended up being really fun.
I wrote this song as a means of dealing with a lot of the pain.
The kids came over on Saturday to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. What a glorious promise we have that we will rise to new life too! I'm still hoping for the rapture, but that's for another post. On Sunday I went to Ryan's church and then we went to a Burmese church where Ryan helped with the worship, and we had a meal with them. Fun times.
