Family Ski Trip ⛷

 We all had a fun day at Caberfae Ski Resort.  Everyone did really well.  And no one got seriously hurt.  ⛷🎿

A cold and windy Valentine's Day

Darryl and I thought it would be a good idea to take a walk on the beach at Holland State Park. oh my, oh my! It was so ridiculously cold. We didn't get far.  Darryl thinks we were walking on frozen lake water, and that made me nervous so we did an abrupt about face and headed back to the car as fast as we could because it was so stinking cold.  Our faces were freezing!!  ❅❆❄

We were fortunate to find a really delicious pizza place on the main drag, which was incredible because we haven't found any pizza in Michigan that is anywhere near as good as it was in NJ.  But this one came close.  Super yummy.  Pet peeve though, is how they cut it up into little squares.  Who does that??

Darryl bought me this beautiful Blue Topaz necklace.  I hadn't found any jewelry I liked or wanted for a long time, so this was a great find!

He also picked up a box of awesome looking truffles!  I haven't tried them yet...but they came from a sweet candy shop in town.

We had lunch at Tupelo Honey.  Very good!

Darryl, Ryan, and I went to GR to see the ice sculptures.  It was a bit of a bust because a lot of people didn't have theirs out, I think because of the rain.  But we did see about 1/2 dozen of them.  It was still a very fun day; getting out and walking around town in the wet slush, getting some fresh air and exercise.  

After the walk, we went to Tupelo Honey for lunch.  It was so good!  We all loved our meals.  

Then we went to look at the Subaru Crosstrek.  Looks like we might be getting one in May.  

After that, we went to visit the Academy of Music where Ryan teaches.  It was cool to see where he works.  

It was a very fun day.

Our quicky ski trip 🎿⛷

Darryl took us skiing yesterday to help us prepare for our family ski trip coming up at the end of the month.  It didn't go so well.  I think because I have gained so much weight since the last time I went 12 years ago, I was very shaky and uncoordinated.   I was also pretty terrified.  Darryl and I went down the "bunny hill" 4 or 5 times, and that was it for me.  Darryl went once down the real hill and that was all he could do.  I almost went with him but at the very last second I was too scared to get on the ski lift and told him to go check it out.  He said I made the right decision not going up.  I would have completely freaked out and probably cried.

 I am not looking forward to going again with the family, but I'll go anyway.
