Kyle's Birthday Brunch

We did a brunch for Kyle's birthday. I think he enjoyed it.  Since we probably couldn't go out to eat with all 6 of us, we had take-out from Noble.  Fun morning.

learning new stuff

This is the Basil that I harvested.  On the right, I'm drying the seeds.  At least I think they are seeds.

Got my dehydrator out.  Drying out some fresh blueberries.

We discovered a local Farmer's Market.

Fresh corn and honey.  And I'm trying to make a clay pot heater.

Dehydrating strawberries from the market too.

I had a bag of assorted hot peppers taking up space in my freezer, so I dried them.

Croutons I made in the dehydrator from old bread I had stored in the freezer.

I decided to grind the dehydrated peppers into a power.

HOT HOT HOT pepper powder.  Don't breathe in the fumes.

I did the same thing with a batch of onions.  Fresh onion powder anyone?

Today I made watermelon juice with lime and honey.

mmm~ delicious over ice.

Good thing I had a container to put it in.

Today I'm working on tomatoes and more onions.

With the way the world is going I thought it would be wise to have some food that didn't need refrigeration...you know, just in case of asteroids or "aliens".   Anyway, it's been fun learning a few new things.

Grown from sprouting sweet potatoes.  Looks like I need a deeper pot now that they are taking off.

Regrowing some romaine.

The Day Before - Acoustic version

This is the one that just has vocal and piano.  I love it... it sounds dramatic and emotional.

The Day Before (the rapture, our blessed hope)

Ryan and I finished my song.  We did 2 different versions of it.  This one has lots of instruments.  We did another version with just piano.  Maybe I'll post that one some other time.  I love how this song turned out.  I pray that God can use it for His glory.  Amen.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

How you DUNE?

These are the buggies we rode in.

Darryl figured out that I was getting grumpy from staying home for so long (since covid started) so he took me on a little outing.  Kyle and Hilary suggested we go for a ride in the dunes with Hilary's brother, Jake, so that's what we did.  I really enjoyed getting outside, somewhere other than at home, and doing something fun!

ready to go!

Jake was very funny...

there were some pretty high hills to go up and DOWN

It's hard to capture how big the dunes are.

It was a nice 40 minute ride.

Dune wood - poky and pointy from being sand blasted.

Jake and us

Very excited to find this amazing vegetable stand.  Finally some fresh veggies!!

We went for lunch in Ludington, but by that time it was raining.  There weren't many places open so it was slim-pickins.

We took a walk on the beach in Ludington... Very cold and windy!  The water was frigid.

We were glad we brought jackets!

Last picture before heading home.

Here's a video I found on YouTube that is almost the exact route we took...

Another quiet week

Darryl went away again for a week.  He went to Georgia to help Paul and Darlene clean out his mom's house now that it's sold.  I had a little battle with my emotions while he was gone.   He and Ken will be back here today.

Anyway, here are a few pictures from my week.  My biggest excitement was going to Costco by myself.
I also spent an evening with Kyle and Hilary, but I forgot to take a picture.  And I spent a day with Ryan.

That's all for now.
Maybe the rapture will be this month.
One of my healthy meals while Darryl's away.

Just reconnected with our friend, Matt.
This was the last time we saw him.

My last visit to our old house to leave a gift for the new homeowners.

Ryan is back from California and came over to lay down some bass on my song.

He spent the day working on my song.
