bearly caching in

We found another geocache yesterday.  It was a 5 gallon bucket filled with wet junk...not much satisfaction there.  Oh well.  Today we went on a nice bike ride with Darryl and I got a very good glute workout.
This afternoon we had a rather LARGE bear lumbering through our yard looking around with his mouth open.  He was so cool.

Ryan is still in Colorado with April.   He'll be back this week.  Yay!!  I miss him!

Next Sunday we sing, and I'm already getting nervous.  I hope I have the confidence to do it by then!

geocaching exercise

We started playing around with geocaching while all the kids were here.  We found a few items so far.  It's kinda fun...which surprises me because I despise scavenger hunts. I was also surprised how many of these things are in our neighborhood.  I think I like this because you aren't racing anyone.  And it gives you a ton of exercise!  Kyle and I have been riding our bikes to the paths and then doing a lot of hiking.  Except for a twisted ankle, it's been a blast!

A couple of them that had little cheap trinkets in them.  Maybe someday we'll actually find a good one.

That is a "micro" one.  I think they are kind of pointless to find because there is nothing in them except a tiny piece of paper to write your name... but it was cool to see what one looked like.

This one was hidden in the dead tree.  It was a plastic container painted brown...

The "3 sticks" was a clue given to us so we could find it.

Darryl and Kyle took our pool down today.  It's time to put the new one up!  Yay for hot, sunny, summer days!  Can't wait to jump in the pool!

Here's my garden.  You can't really see anything but hopefully it'll be pretty cool once the stuff starts producing.
This is what I have, a few different kinds of peppers, including Thai hot red peppers!!  They are seriously hot.  Also a few kinds of tomatoes, string beans, sugar baby watermelons, strawberries, and lots of different kinds of herbs.  I might add things; not sure yet.  I've just been doing a little bit at a time.

So, my ankle was swollen up today.  It's feeling better right now.  :-)  Hoping I can still go do something fun tomorrow...but we'll see.

Royal Canoe and other craziness

I completely forgot to post these pictures from the Royal Canoe concert... silly me.  Oh well, here they are.  It was a super fun night.

We pretty much had crazy times wherever we went!!

New York kind of groove

Central Park

Ellen's Stardust Diner

So, here are some random shots from NYC with the kids.  We had a very fun time.  We saw lots of New York, and then went to see Godzilla at a D-Box.  It was cool... :D

I had a nice Mother's Day... Ryan and and April sang with me... and I got some cool gifts, like this hat:

We got together with Emma one day to practice Oceans.
I got a nice garden started.
Ryan and April flew to Colorado.
Hilary is only here for 2 more days.
We went for some walks.
Summer is starting soon... more to come....stay tuned.

Alive again

Well, it's been a really bad week, but now I know I'm alive and well because I can't get enough of playing my guitar and singing.  Having taken a week off really affected my fingertips; they are so sore now.  I have been trying to make up for lost time with my guitar, and with singing, but sadly I currently have no voice.  With all the coughing my voice is so scratchy and rough.  Then, just as I started getting better from the flu, I got an infected tooth... ow!

We have songs picked out for June 1st, so we'll see if things stay the same or change between now and then.  I'm going to Zuke's this week to see what kind of thoughts and ideas she has about arrangements.  I'm so excited to be singing and playing with Ryan and Kyle soon.  Praying my voice comes back before then!!  Doctor said I could be coughing for 2 weeks, so that would not be a good thing.  I'm also so excited to be playing guitar for some of the songs.  And possibly for one of the songs, I will be the only guitar because Ryan might be playing piano.  It will be so awesome.

Ashlynn ended up doing Oceans this week....so now it won't be as special when I do it, but we will try to make the best of it.  Still unsure if Zuke and Emma are going to be a part of it, but we shall see.

Ryan, Kyle, Hilary, and April will be here on Saturday.  Then I am driving them to CT to see Royal Canoe.  It's gonna be so cool, and so strange to have everyone here.  Summer is going to start and it's going to fly by.
