88 ways to...

We took Mom and Dad, and Scott and Flo to dinner at the 88 Restaurant. The food was good, but the portions were so small for the price$. So we felt it was a rip off. Well, at least we got good service, unlike CJ Maggie's yesterday when we had to wait nearly an hour to get our lunch, even though they weren't busy (we'll never go there again!).

Anyways, we had a nice time visiting with them for a bit.
The boys wearing sweaters they got at the thrift stores.

We went for a nice long jog (long for me!) today in 30 degree weather. It was so cold that the cold air hurt my lungs! But man it was good. I felt so accomplished when we got back. Hopefully we will have time to do it again tomorrow in between other stuff we gotta do.

Tomorrow I am making fresh trout for supper. Gonna be smashing!

time with Mom and Dad

Here we are in West Virginia visiting with Mom and Dad. Came here to relax but so far we have been very busy. Did a little shopping this morning, went to lunch. But the rest of the time I have been incredibly busy!!
Ryan and Kyle at CJ Maggies restaurant for lunch.
Very neat cowboy boots with heels! Are you kidding me? A great purchase at Salvation Army for $3.99. Seriously good deal.
Rocket Dog shoes I found at Goodwill. I never heard of them before but think they are pretty sweet, especially for $2.99.
I was showing my Dad how my camera can take a picture facing away from you OR facing towards you. Pretty dang cool, huh?
I am looking forward to moving on in 2012.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

And I will try to ignore any buses I find myself under.

“God with us”

We had a very lovely time at Grace Church on Christmas Eve. Ryan did a fabulous job of leading worship, and he looked really good too. lol :D It was nice that Kenny invited us to have dinner with them so I didn't have to rush back to cook before we went to Preakness. I got to wear my sexy red shoes that Darryl got me in NYC. Too bad you can't see them in the picture.

Christmas Day was pretty busy with church and cooking. But we had a fabulous dinner that my boys loved, so it was all worth it.

What is the true meaning of success?

We had such a fun time in New York yesterday. We did some shopping, and eating, and lots of walking! In the evening we went to see Danielle Radcliffe (Harry Potter) in How To Succeed at Business Without Really Trying. It was pretty stinking cool to see him, even though I never read a Harry Potter book or saw any of his movies. But he was extremely talented and we enjoyed it a lot!

It's been wonderful having the boys home from college. I love the sound of their laughter. I love their hugs and smiles, and their kind hearts.

Christmas is almost here. I'm nowhere near ready. And maybe I just won't get ready this year. I've been so side-tracked with other things. I just can't seem to get it together. Next week we head to West Virginia to see Mom and Dad. I must do a lot of running up and down their hill after all the junk food I've been eating lately!

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

goodbye metal mouth!

A momentous day in the Vegh household! After nearly 3 years, son #2 got his braces off on Monday, December 19th!!

Hilary gets hers off on Friday.
Feel bad that son #1 has no end in sight at this point. Stupid ortho!

great balls of Christmas yum yum

Crazy, busy days lately. Got lots to do. Today I finished making my Christmas Cake Balls. I think they came out really good. Can't wait to take them to church!

Can't believe Christmas is creeping up so fast. This is not my favorite time of year so I'll be glad when it's over. But I am anxious to see the boys and I hope we can make it nice for them.
