Children of God

Ryan had the privilege of singing the re-write of Children of God this morning. Here it is.

Grace Bible College Grace Singers

We were blessed with the awesomeness of the Grace Singers from Grace Bible College. Unfortunately I didn't record any full songs... now I feel stupid and sorry.

taking a look back

Since I was reminiscing the other day, I decided to post some of these old photos before I lose track of them. I know there are many more, but it would take me some time to locate them. Every time I look at these, I feel a rush of emotion that kind of melts together sadness and happiness, and pride and joy, into one big gooey mess.

I love them so much.

my baby's first hair cut!

Ok, well maybe that title is a little bit of an exaggeration, but it was the first haircut that Ryan ever had that I didn't give him. I have always cut my kids hair so it was weird having someone else do it. So we made it an adventure!

Darwin told Ryan to keep his long curly hair and I do like it long, but it needed to be fixed a bit because it was looking sloppy. I want him to look like a star! lol
Kyle and I had a blast...stuffing our mouths with chocolate!
Heres' the finished product! Very nice!
Ryan, where is the Lord taking your life? You are all grown up now and almost ready to head out on your own. I will miss you terribly! But I know you will hear from the Lord and follow Him faithfully. Of this I’m sure.

Videos of Nashville

We took tons of them, but I'll just post a few...

This first one is the re-write of Children of God

This is a little bit of the re-write of his song formerly called In Thee O Lord

Give Me Jesus was just one of the songs he did at Darwin's suite at Opryland.

This was Ryan's audition at the Songwriting Workshop. He did part of Blazing Light of God

Ryan's music adventure

Had a fabulous time with Darwin Moody of Embassy Music. Got together for lunch with him and his family and another Christian singer named Robert Mauti.
This is Robert signing his CD for us.
Robert, Darryl and Darwin.
Here is where Singing Success is and the studio of the famous Brett Manning. (I am in the doorway)
Kyle and I enjoyed watching Ryan's lesson with Jesse.
It was a big thrill to meet the awesome and amazing Jesse Nemitz. We took him out to lunch after the lesson. He is a really nice and talented guy. Ryan was able to get two lessons from him so he would have lots to practice before the next time he goes out there.
Ryan sang a song for him. I tried to post the video but not successful.
We had to get a picture with him!
Then we met with International Evangelist Singer/Songwriter Gordon Jensen, who Darryl knows from way back when Gordon produced his album. He is a long time friend of the Vegh's.
Darryl and Gordon were happy to see each other again.
Then we had an 8 hr. session with Darwin. First Ryan got a lesson on song writing. And then the rest of the day they spent going over Ryan's songs and re-writing 2 of them. They are beautiful songs and I hope they can be sung in churches all over the place!
Ryan was a little unsure of changing his lyrics and melodies, but he had a great attitude and he held up so well. So patient and hard working!
I got tired though!

Nashville

We went to Cooter's to see the General Lee. It was really funny. The car was inside and the hood was open. It was hooked up to jumper cables. They started it up...it kept stalling. It hadn't been started for 2 months. So they had the engine running inside the "museum" filling the place up with fumes. After starting it several times, it got running smoothly enough to take it outside.
Right next door was a Willie Nelson "museum." This cracked me up, I don't know why. I think it's the Blues Bros.
I got a silly cowgirl hat!
Here's the police car from Duke's of Hazard.
Aww...

Gaylord Opryland Resort

We had a great time at this hotel in Nashville. Ryan was a part of an artist and songwriters workshop. He had classes, an audition, and networking. It was a super opportunity for him.
He met with the president of Embassy Music for an evaluation.
Introduced him to many of Ryan's songs.
Most of these shots are from Opryland. There is no way I could get pictures of how enormous this place was. After a few days there, we still didn't see the whole thing. It really was amazing.
In front of a huge Christmas tree make out of poinsettas... Lots of them.
Kyle was entertaining a family there.
The lights inside and outside were magnificent!!
For $50 a day, you can pretend to be a rock star! lol
As any good mom would do, I embarrassed Kyle with the annonymous person in the bear costume.
This is a jacket on sale for $500! haha
There was a beautiful waterfall!
