Go JACKALS!!

Kyle and I went to our first baseball game. Granted it wasn't major league, but the price and the seats were perfect. And plus, we weren't really following the action. Just mostly watching that no balls hit us in the face! But we had a super fun time with the gang from Preakness.
The game was "set aside" for about a half an hour while it rained.
I think the mascot was getting a little fresh with me. He grabbed me so tight!
Pastor Karl and Jennifer
Oh yeah, Kyle got a Jackals visor! AND I got my new car a few days ago... pics to follow...

hidden treasures in the woods

We had a really great time today on our hike through the woods. Last week Kyle and I found these fabulous paths and a stone hut with a large stone fire place...lots of gigantic rocks. It was so amazing back there! So today we took Ryan through and had a great time talking and playing and climbing. Only 1 more summer before he is off to college. wow...

Crocodile Dock

The boys and I enjoyed a week of fun and games with the kids from Wayne doing VBS. Hopefully a lot of kids heard the gospel and received Jesus Christ as their Savior! Girls in my crew.
Who is greater? Spider Man or Jesus?
Pastor Karl did a great job with everything! I had fun doing crafts. :)"FEAR NOT!"
They all did an amazing job with decorations and building this dock.Kyle took care of kindergarten kids.

2009 Mission Trip

Here are some shots of Ryan in Chicago, IL, on the way to Sullivan for a Group WorkCamp missions trip.
This is on the bus. (well you can sorta see the side of his head) :)

They got to stop at Giordanos in Chicago for stuffed pizza. Ryan liked it.

Zoom-Zoom...

This week Ryan is away on a missions trip in Sullivan, IL. He is coming home late tonight. I think he had a great time. While he was gone, Kyle and I had some nice adventures, bike riding and hiking, and we even hit the movies once. We saw Ice Age....it was pretty good.

So, we started the process of car buying again the last couple of days. Here's a sign I liked. Has nothing to do with car buying, it just made me laugh. We went to several Mazda dealers. One in Wayne, so we finally made it to the Belmont Grill. I was happy to be there after hearing so much about it (and Kyle told us how good the food was). So of course we had to get a picture (Darryl took it), just in case we never made it back there.
Here is a picture of a rather large bees nest that was in the door of one of the cars I test drove today. We were very lucky that the bees didn't get inside the car, but the saleslady did get stung when she got out.
Ok, here's the car I want. It is a Mazda 3 hatchback. It doesn't have the nice turbo engine (I drove that one today too... and it was sooo sweet!) but it has leather seats and a moon roof and Bose speakers, and whatever else. And a decent kick to it so it can get out of the way of the traffic, unlike my Subaru. Oh, I did go test drive another Subaru today too, but honestly, it lagged and I'm not going to drive on Route 80 with a laggy engine.
I feel the need, the need for speeeeed!

Haha... yeah, I was having fun!

Frontline Bible Church youth group

We got one kid back today. And since he forgot to take the camera with him to NYC, this is the only picture we got. These are kids from Frontline Bible Church. Ryan and Kyle had such a great time with them this week while they were working in the area. This picture was taken outside my church where they all spent the week. Kyle had great experiences including his trip to New York, helping with VBS, assisting the elderly, playing games, and cleaning the church! He met some great kids from Michigan, and I'm hoping they can be life long friends. Great memories in the making! Here's a picture of Kyle's new visor he got in NYC. So happy he got one b/c he's been looking for one for a very long time. He also got this coooool apron, which now belongs to me. lol

We got to see Kyle on TV when he was at the Today's show. That was so cool. :) Thank You, Lord, for keeping my boys safe!

Mission work for the boys

Well, it's been an interesting week. Ryan and Kyle spent most of the week working with the youth group from Frontline Bible Church. They had a great time, and I know some of the elderly folks at Preakness really enjoyed the company. I will post a picture of the group when I get my camera back from Kyle.

Today Ryan is in Chicago, headed for Sullivan, Ill for another missions trip, while Kyle is in NYC at the Today's show. I guess they will hit the Statue of Liberty as well, but we won't get any pictures of that. He called me this morning to tell me to turn on the TV and that he forgot his wallet, the phone, AND the camera!

Darryl and I have been out to eat twice this week. We went to the Windlass Restaurant at Lake Hopatcong. It is very nice and we had 2 good dates. I guess this is practice for when the kids are in college?

Here are some pictures of Ryan getting ready to leave Grace yesterday morning. I wasn't there, I was at home wiping tears from my eyes! He didn't arrive there until after midnight last night. I miss my babies! Keep them safe, Lord!

Give Me Jesus

Awesome song sung by an awesome son on Independence Day.

flowers

Here are a few shots of some of my plants that actually survived this year. Amazing. They aren't the greatest pics, but at least this way I can remember that something grew.

Hibiscus tree (click on it you will see a bug climbing up the style)

A couple of Calla Lillies, I think they are miniatures. Either that, or they didn't grow so well because these are really small. I like them big better. But they are still pretty. I grew them from bulbs. (Still waiting for my Zinnias to bloom)

No idea what this is called. I got a few more little things I didn't take pics of. Maybe next time.
