Time with Mom

Late last night we got back from West Virginia.  We visited Mom, and Scott and Flo.  We went to Links Restaurant for dinner.  We took care of the chickens, and 1 baby chick, went for walks, made some meals, walked Main Street, and had lots of interesting conversations!  It was a fun time!

So, we had a fabulous time with Mom, and so glad we got down there to visit FINALLY after more than a year!  Stupid COVID.  It's so dumb that you have to wear a mask on the plane...but only if you're not eating.  If you eat or drink you can take it off.  Funny, if this blasted virus is what they say it is, they wouldn't be serving anything to eat on planes.  I mean, come on...is a person no longer "contagious" if they are eating?!  So freaking idiotic.  Same thing in restaurants.  I guess once you sit down you are no longer at risk.  What a joke.

We're glad to be home, as usual.  But so blessed that we got to spend time with Mom.

Birthday and broken nose

This is a "from scratch" carrot cake I made for Darryl's birthday.  He said it was the best carrot cake he had even eaten.  Too bad we were both kinda sick for his birthday and the week leading up to it.  The kids came over to spend the day but Darryl slept for a good part of the day.  We ended up getting take-out from Carrabba's, and played a game.

So, it's a long story, but Darryl fell and broke his nose in 2 places and cut his throat.  Spent over 4 hours in the ER getting him fixed up.  He'll never do "that" again.

Darryl decided to get a new car since he had to turn his old lease in.  The kids and I will be able to drive this to WV to see Mom over the summer.

We had John and Melinda, and Bob over for dinner, along with Ryan.  It was a really fun night.  My chicken turned out terrible...oh well.  It was still a good time!

 We just found out yesterday that our pool is coming in May, not in July like Chuck told us.  It's a good thing we didn't book a vacation for May like we were trying to do. So excited it's coming in sooner.  And it's a very good thing I asked, because it seems like no one was planning to tell us.
