Northern Lights or Solar Flare?

These are pictures I took from my house. I don't know whether these are really Northern Lights or they were caused by a solar flare or what, but they were definitely different than how the Northern Lights look in pictures. And for the most part you could only see them through a camera. It was cool to see and capture these pictures, but I'm still not convinced what it was.
